United Way of Morris County is exploring program ideas for middle school students that focus on math, science, and technology. The ideal program, designed to stimulate interest in the math, science, and technology fields, may be an ideal setting for the kind of mentoring relationships that could help children gain self-esteem and self-confidence. The ideal program could help create opportunities for the kinds of healthy emotional bonds between kids and adults that would give the kids access to reliable adults in times of concern about potentially risky behavior.
