United Way Honors Mentors
Annual Mentoring Celebration Highlights Volunteers, Recognizes Support from State Farm Insurance Companies
May 8, 2007 – Morristown, NJ –Ten mentors were recognized and honored at United Way of Morris County's Annual Mentoring Celebration at the Morris Museum on May 2, 2007. The honorees, who were teens as well as adults, volunteer their time as mentors in many different situations throughout Morris County.
The mentors and the organizations through which they volunteer included: Ellyn Schoenfeld, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA); Joseph Walker, Garrett Morgan Academy; Rita Parikh, Science Academy at Morristown High School; Heather Lewis, Science Academy at Morristown High School; Jaclyn Scarpicchio, Inverse, Inc.; Arlene Stoller,Roots and Wings Foundation; Margie Ferrari, Friends of the Blind; Bernice Bailine, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris, Bergen and Passaic; Mary Hotz, Mental Health Association of Morris County; Anna Ho, Morris Area Girl Scout Council; and Sally Weissman, Morris Habitat for Humanity.
Among the evening's highlights was a special donation presented by Arlene Lester from State Farm. State Farm generously supported United Way's Mentor Training and Consulting Center, as well as United Way's Youth Leadership and Service Council this year.
