JCP&L Supports United Way of Morris County

John and Everton ScottDecember 10, 2007 – Madison, NJ – Employees of FirstEnergy companies including Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) showed their generosity in support of the 2007 United Way campaign.  This year, JCP&L employees and the FirstEnergy Foundation pledged more than $183,000 to 12 different United Ways across New Jersey, including $41,000 to United Way of Morris County.  The donations will support health and human services throughout the community that help children, teens, seniors, people with disabilities, people in crisis, and families.

John Franklin, United Way of Morris County chief executive officer, (r) accepted the contribution from Everton Scott, JCP&L area manager.

JCP&L involvement with United Way of Morris County extends throughout the year.  This summer, featured a rousing softball game to raise funds for United Way, click here to read the story and this fall, JCP&L teamed up with Novartis and United Way to gather much needed school supplies for the children of Jamaica, who had lost almost everything in an earlier hurricane, click here to read the story.

United Way of Morris County staff and volunteers are grateful for JCP&L's ongoing support!
