Local Community Shows Support for "Amateur" Models
Volunteers model the latest fashions to raise money for United Way at
The Shoppes at Union Hill Fashion Show

August 18, 2005 – Denville, NJ A sell out crowd of over 300 local community volunteers, celebrities, and friends of United Way supported the second annual fashion show at The Shoppes at Union Hill on Tuesday, August 16, 2005.  Volunteer models, including Mr. and Miss Denville, showed off the latest fashions and accessories from retailers at The Shoppes at Union Hill, including Aerosoles, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Blue Mercury Chico's, Elisabeth, the Gap, Jos. A. Bank, Talbots, and The Children's Place.

United Way welcomed back Mizar Turdiu, national television host, as the emcee for the show.  Turdiu enthusiastically introduced each model to the crowd.  Grover Kemble, longtime favorite New Jersey guitarist, vocalist, and jazz performer, also returned to provide his signature style of acoustic entertainment.

Attendees were treated to a delicious dinner catered by Bensi, as well as coffee and iced tea generously donated by Starbucks.  The evening's Tricky Tray hosted over 40 fabulous prizes – ranging from gift certificates and beauty products to weekend getaways and sports tickets.  All of the prizes were donated by local retailers and friends of United Way.  Proceeds from the second annual fashion show will help United Way and its partners address issues related to quality child care, affordable housing, financial self-sufficiency, and accessible transportation, just to name a few.
