College Students and United Way Join Volunteer Forces
College Students and United Way Join Volunteer Forces-GroupFDU volunteers spend their Saturday Volunteering Time with United Way

December 19, 2006 – Morristown, NJ – For most young people, Saturdays are filled with an endless list of to-dos, from homework, sports commitments, to social outings with their friends.  On Saturday, November 18, college students from Fairleigh Dickenson University, along with high school students from United Way’s Youth Leadership Service Council, set aside some time from their busy schedules to do something special – they found time to volunteer.

Together, students from the FDU Student Volunteer Association and teens from United Way’s Youth Council rolled up their sleeves to spruce up the Eric Johnson House, which provides transitional housing with supportive services for people living with HIV/AIDS.  Student volunteers spent their Saturday raking leaves, cleaning, and sweeping at the agency.  They also spent some time learning about the services provided by Eric Johnson House.
