United Way Celebrates Community Partners, Recognizes Volunteers
United Way of Morris County Hosts 85th Annual Meeting
September 17, 2007 – Florham Park, NJ – United Way of Morris County will hold its 85th Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, and will focus on "Changing Lives, One at a Time" by highlighting United Way-funded programs and partnerships that serve Morris County's children, families, and individuals.
Featured speakers include Patrick Fennell, founder and president of Empowerment Solutions, LLC and United Way volunteer, who will speak about the power of mentoring to change lives. Shaunna Rubin, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, will talk about her volunteer experience rebuilding the Gulf Coast with United Way's Alternative Spring Break program. Carmela Slinvinksi, executive director of DAWN Center for Independent Living, will speak about her work on behalf of people with disabilities, as well as United Way's Caregivers Coalition.
Honorees at the luncheon, who will be recognized for their volunteer service and contributions to United Way, include: Ray Fernandez, Bridge Marina, Inc.; Katie Mateicka, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University; Tina O'Brien McCarthy, FedEx; JoAnn Quattro; and members of the Commercial Real Estate Network Steering Committee.
The Kellogg Award, United Way of Morris County's highest honor, will be presented to representatives from Wyeth to commemorate their consistent and vital support of United Way.
The event, which is open to the public, will be held at Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center, 175 Park Avenue, Florham Park, N.J. A welcome reception in the hotel courtyard begins at 11:00 am; the program begins at 12:00 pm. Tickets are $45.
