Local Teens Help Create Safe Environment for Trick-or-Treaters

October 16, 2007 – Parsippany, NJ – On Friday, October 26, 2007 from 11:30am – 2:30pm high school students involved with United Way of Morris County's Youth Leadership and Service Council will participate in the 17th annual "Trick-or-Suites" Halloween party, hosted by Embassy Suites Hotel in Parsippany, NJ.  "Trick-or-Suites" provides children from the P.G. Chambers School, a United Way partner agency, with a safe and handicap-accessible environment to enjoy trick-or-treating.

This year United Way of Morris County Youth Leadership and Service Council members will be responsible for decorating a suite, handing out candy and spending time with students from P.G. Chambers School.  The Youth Leadership and Service Council have chosen "Candy Land" as the theme for their suite and participating members of the Council will dress up in costumes to support this theme.

Over 100 children with special needs from the P.G. Chambers School in Cedar Knolls, NJ are expected to attend the Trick-or-Suites event to enjoy a day of trick-or-treating.  In addition to the United Way of Morris County's Youth Leadership and Service Council, approximately 22 local companies will decorate suites and hand out treats, making this Halloween a memorable day for some children who might otherwise be unable to enjoy the holiday.  Last year's suites were decorated in a variety of themes, including:  SpongeBob, SuperHeros, and Circus.

Event host, Embassy Suites Hotel located at 909 Parsippany Boulevard, Parsippany, NJ will provide the entertainment for the event.  All proceeds generated from room rentals will go entirely to the P.G. Chambers School.

About Embassy Suites Trick or Suites Program
Embassy Suites Parsippany began hosting "Trick or Suite" 17 years ago to create a safe environment in which physically challenged children could enjoy Halloween.  Embassy Suites transports all the children from the school to the hotel using the Embassy Suites van.   Throughout the afternoon, the children participate in activities such as: face painting and decorating pumpkins which they bring home with them as a keepsake of this special event.   At the conclusion of the children touring the decorated suites, they are given lunch.  Many of the hotel's various food vendors donate all of the food and beverages that are served on this day. For more information, call Beth Bauer at 973.939.2108 or visit www.parsippany.embsuites.com.
