Caregivers to Benefit from "Creating a Framework for Care" Conference
Enlightening day of workshops scheduled
August 29, 2007 – Parsippany, NJ – Each year the Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans and the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, in collaboration with the United Way of Morris County and the Caregiver Coalition of Morris County present a 1/2 day conference specifically for family caregivers. The goal of this conference is to provide caregivers with the latest information on diagnosis, advances in research, care and treatment as well as providing practical information, resources and support.
This year's conference will feature a physician, who will provide attendees with the latest information on Alzheimer's disease and related dementia disorders, including diagnosis, current treatment, and advances in research. The conference will also include a presentation on the legal and financial considerations affecting caregivers given by a local elderlaw attorney.
A choice of two workshops will be offered, one focusing on issues of caregiving and the importance of maintaining the physical and emotional wellbeing of the caregiver
and the other will provide practical information and techniques to create a safe and supportive home environment.
