Bridge Marina Holds Fuel Dock Fundraiser for United Way
Family-owned marina in Lake Hopatcong will donate portion of Labor Day weekend profits to United Way of Morris County

August 22, 2006 – Lake Hopatcong, NJ – This summer, Labor Day weekend means more to Bridge Marina than the unofficial end of summer.  For this family-owned business, it means keeping charity in mind.  For the third time this summer, the Fernandez family, which owns and operates Bridge Marina on Lake Hopatcong, NJ, will donate a portion of holiday weekend profits to United Way of Morris County.  From Friday, September 1 through Monday, September 4, 2006, the marina will donate five cents of every gallon of gas it sells to United Way of Morris County.

The local small business has held similar events for United Way this summer, including fundraisers over Memorial Day and Fourth of July holiday weekends.  The upcoming event will again donate a portion of the marina's fuel profits to United Way, even though gas prices are averaging an all-time high across New Jersey.

Bridge Marina was started in 1957 by Carmen and Salustiano Fernandez, who immigrated to New Jersey from Spain.  Their son, Joseph R. Fernandez, was the second generation to run the business; he recently turned the reigns over to his son, Ray Fernandez, who is also a United Way volunteer.

Bridge Marina's fuel dock will be open from 9:00am. to 7:00pm over Labor Day weekend, and is located at 89 Brady Road in Lake Hopatcong, NJ.  For more information or directions, visit www.bridgemarinainc.com or call 973.663.1976.
