In an effort to further serve the communities hardest hit by the recent floods across the state, a flood resource section has been added to the 2-1-1 homepage www.nj211.org.
The 211 flood resource section includes links to helpful government pages, information on preliminary damage assessment and flood water clean-up and safety tips. The site also provides links to flood recovery procedures and how to volunteer in the clean-up efforts.
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has announced a rebate program available to qualified homeowners and commercial or industrial business owners who need replacement and/or an upgrade to equipment damaged by the recent floods. The NJBPU's Clean Energy Program provides ongoing financial incentives for the replacement of older equipment with more fuel efficient newer models. To see if you qualify click here.
New Jersey's Office of Emergency Management in collaboration with county and local officials has started conducting Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDAs) of New Jersey areas that were hardest hit by the recent Nor'easter. Residents and business owners who were affected by floods should document their damage with pictures and call their insurance agents to file a claim. For more information on flooding, power outages or how to prepare for future disasters, contact the NJ Office of Emergency Management at www.nj.gov/njoem.
