United Way Launches Unprecedented Early Childhood Learning Campaign
Born Learning kids1May 3, 2005

On May 3, 2005, United Way, as part of its focus on early learning through Success By 6®, launched a nationwide public engagement campaign called Born Learning.

You will most likely see or hear Born Learning's catchy TV, radio, or print ads over the next year.  The Born Learning campaign offers action steps that make it easy – and fun – to help young children learn during everyday activities such as sorting laundry and grocery shopping.

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers … visit www.bornlearning.org to learn how to turn everyday moments into quality learning moments.  This user-friendly site will provide you with tools, tips, and checklists to help create quality early learning opportunities for young children. For example, our Born Learning Quick Tips can help you transform chores, errands, and other daily activities into eye-opening experiences, while our Kids Basics cards will provide you with answers on everything from early literacy to well doctor visits.

Born Learning kid2Why all this focus on early learning?  Experts know that investing in a child's success in the early years leads to tangible results later: higher education, fewer involvements in crime, and greater success in life.  That's real community impact.

The Born Learning Campaign is made possible by an unprecedented partnership between United Way, the Ad Council, and Civitas.  This partnership joins United Way's extensive community impact network with the nation's pre-eminent public service advertiser, and a top expert in parent outreach strategies and creative marketing around early childhood.  Here in Morris County, United Way of Morris County is taking an active role in this campaign because we want to do all we can to help parents and caregivers prepare young children to succeed in school.
