™This race is important because it raises the visibility of United Way,
corporate philanthropy and the power of volunteering.
– John Franklin, CEO of United Way of Morris County
More than 2,700 runners and walkers hit the streets at Pfizer's 16th Annual 5K, an event that is growing in popularity and is becoming a tradition in the community. Participants represented over 100 corporations in the area; the runner's ages ranged from three to eighty years old. Gene Mitchell won the race for the second year in a row with a time of 14:53.
This event raised approximately $40,000 for United Way of Morris County. Pfizer employees not only had the largest team in the race, 170 people, they also supported the race effort with over 100 volunteers. Their effort and dedication IS making a difference in the community and it shows that they are committed to making real and lasting changes in Morris County.
