Youth Empowerment Alliance Phase II Launch Meeting
YEA kicked off Phase II of its Youth Empowerment Project at Atlantic Health Corporate Training Center in Morris Plains
Monday, September 29, 2008

YEA logoThe Youth Empowerment Alliance (YEA) kicked off the fall by gathering at the Atlantic Health Corporate Training Center on Monday, September 29th to launch Phase II of the Youth Empowerment Project.  Community members came together to begin implementing the recommended short-term solutions and to develop strategies for moving forward with the long-term suggestions that emerged during YEA Phase I.

"We are excited to use the knowledge we gained in Phase I to help our middle schoolers succeed," said Liz Warner, YEA Project Leader at United Way of Morris County.  "It is essential to have the entire community involved in this project, and now is the perfect time to join in our efforts."

YEA Phase II is exploring opportunities to foster better social and communication skills; provide tools for local implementation of best practice initiatives and solutions; organize extensive community outreach efforts; and increase "connectedness" among kids, schools, parents, and the community.

You can help YEA!
To make significant, lasting changes in the lives of our middle school kids, we must work together as a community.  Please be a part of the solution as we embark on Phase II!  We are looking for volunteers to join our newly-formed YEA teams: Research & Resources, Cyber Connections, Community Change Toolkit, and Mentoring.

For more information about YEA and how you can get involved in Phase II, contact Liz Warner at 973.993.1160, x107 by email.
