United Way of Morris County and Deirdre's House in partnership with the Morris County Child Abuse Prevention Collaboration present Children & Technology Symposium: Prevention of Child Exploitation.

Please join us for this educational morning where we will explore the unfortunate and potentially dangerous side effects of children's use of technology. Raising awareness of how common child exploitation through technology is, helps us focus on and learn effective ways to practice prevention.  This is a pervasive, yet preventable form of child abuse.  
 
Register today – seating is limited!
Cost: $20 per person payable to “Deirdre's House” by check or money order.
(Admission is free for Collaboration agency members and College of St. Elizabeth personnel.  Students with valid student ID: $10)

Note: According to the regulatory criteria established by the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners, and our intended compliance with that criteria, the Collaboration has applied for continuing education credits.  If granted, we will offer four (4) Continuing Education Hours for successful completion of this program which can be applied towards the continuing education requirements for the renewal of New Jersey Social Work License/Certification.

About the Presenters
Dr. Sharon Cooper, MD, FAAP
Sharon Cooper is CEO of Developmental and Forensic Pediatrics, PA, a consulting firm which provides medical care, training, and expert witness experience in child maltreatment cases.  Dr. Cooper works regularly with numerous national and international investigative agencies on Internet crimes against children. Dr. Cooper spent twenty-one years in the Armed Forces retiring as a colonel and for the past several years, has worked in both the civilian and military arenas in child abuse and developmental pediatrics. She holds a faculty position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
 

Agent Bill Tsigaras, MPA
Agent Bill Tsigaras joined the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in 1999 having prior work experience with the New York District Attorney's and the NJ Justice Department. He is assigned to the Computer Crimes Unit.  He has worked on over 450 cases involving Auction Fraud, ID Theft, Recovering Missing Persons & Fugitives, Computer Intrusion and Terrorist Threats.   Agent Tsigaras has conducted hundreds of trainings and seminars since 1999 and has added focused training for Law Enforcement, Educational Administrators, Students and businesses. He is also credited with developing and delivering all of the Computer Crime and Internet Safety Trainings for Morris County.
 
In 2004 Agent Tsigaras was awarded “Businessman of the Year” by the NJ Business & Education Association for his work in this field.  In 2005, he received an award from ASIS for saving a life and initiating “Operation Viking Funeral” with US Customs and Secret Service.   Agent Tsigaras and his unit support 39 local municipalities and works in conjunction with other State and Federal law enforcement.
 
Agent Tsigaras holds a Masters, Bachelor's and Associates degrees in related fields. Additionally, he holds various Computer Engineering Certifications and has completed Cyber Terrorism Training along with other related law enforcement seminars.
