Dodge, Dive, Dip, Duck!!!

Under sunny skies and in frigid weather, teams of college students gathered for an invigorating, highly competitive game of dodge ball, hosted by the Student Group of United Way of Morris County at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison on November 28th.
The event was organized by Jean Wilcox, group advisor for the United Way Student Group, and over 30 students playing on eight different teams participated. Countless more students stopped by to cheer their friends on, and to enjoy the free coffee and donuts.
Members of the winning team were awarded water bottles, and all participants were given free United Way t-shirts – a welcome gift after a tough afternoon of intense competition!
The Student Group of United Way of Morris County is active on three area campuses: FDU, Drew, and County College of Morris.
Each area's Student Group has embraced United Way of America's initiative for college students across the country, the 10,000 Hours Program, whereby students attempt to reach a goal of 10,000 hours of community service. Once reached, the students will be rewarded with a free concert on one of the campuses. To attain this goal, a variety of activities, in addition to dodge ball events, are planned.
