Fun at the Boardwalk Family Game Night
Tuesday, May 23, 2006
Children of all ages (those young, and young at heart!) joined the Youth Leadership and Service Council on May 23 for fun, games and prizes at Fun at the Boardwalk Family Game Night. The event raised over $2,000 for United Way of Morris County, and was planned entirely by members of United Way’s Youth Leadership and Service Council. Youth Council members sold tickets, secured in-kind donations from local businesses, and planned the family-centered games featured at the fundraiser.
A highlight of the event was a presentation by Youth Council members about their experience over the past year. Members shared their perspectives on community service, and the importance of volunteerism. Youth Council members also presented a check to United Way member agency Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris County, in support of their work with children.
United Way gratefully acknowledges the F.M. Kirby Foundation and MetLife for their support of the Youth Council throughout the year. United Way also salutes Fun at the Board Walk Family Game Night supporters: 3M; PricewaterhouseCoopers; BJ’s Wholesale Club; The Brenner Family; Cadbury Adams; Commerce Bank; The Community Theatre; The Famished Frog; Frank’s Pizzeria & Ristorante; Glam Jam; Scotti’s Record Shops; Sandrian Camera Shops; Square Luggage; Studio Yoga; and Top Notch.
