Youth Council Members Bring "Charlotte’s Web" to Trick or Treaters
Friday, October 27, 2006
"Charlotte's Web" was the Halloween theme for the Youth Leadership and Service Council this year at the annual Trick or Suites event on Friday, October 27. Trick or Suites, sponsored by Embassy Suites Hotel in Parsippany, provides a safe and handicap-accessible environment for children of P.G. Chambers School, a United Way partner agency, to enjoy trick or treating. During Trick or Suites, local companies decorate suites at the hotel and hand out treats, making Halloween a memorable and happy one for some children who might otherwise be unable to enjoy the holiday.
This year, the Youth Council members' suite was inspired by E.B. White's classic story "Charlotte's Web," and donned all of the characters of the tale, including Wilbur the pig, Charlotte, and a host of barnyard friends. Members spent the afternoon handing out treats, and spent some quality time with each other and the children of P.G. Chambers School.
