Seminar: Immigration in the United States
Thursday, December 7, 2006
The Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown

More than fifty representatives from local agencies and organizations that serve immigrants joined together on December 7 for a special seminar hosted by United Way and the Immigrant Resources Network.  Elissa Steglich, managing attorney at the American Friends Service Committee's Immigrant Rights Program in Newark, New Jersey, was the keynote speaker.  Steglich shared valuable information regarding immigration law, policies, and rights – all of which impact every aspect of life for immigrant families and individuals.

The seminar also included an information exchange, which gave participants the opportunity network and learn about additional services available in the community.  .

The Immigrant Resources Network is a collaboration of public, private, and non-profit agencies and businesses whose purpose is to increase and strengthen awareness of available resources for immigrant populations in Morris County.  To find out more about the Network, contact Melissa Wankmuller.
