Volunteers are the heart of United Way of Morris County. We engage a large network of hundreds of people from varied backgrounds and interests in all aspects of our work. We are committed to providing training for our volunteers and opportunities for them to effect positive change that will impact people's lives and build a better community.
Our process ensures that each and every volunteer who comes through the door at United Way will have a consistent application, interview, and educational experience.

Success by 6 Action Team
Join a winning team! Want to get involved in the community, help kids and meet new people engaged in important work? Consider joining our Success By 6 Action Team. We are a highly committed, energetic group of individuals dedicated to providing the best possible start for all young children. We meet monthly and are working on many exciting new projects all which benefit preschool children.
Marketing Steering Committee
Supports United Way of Morris County's Marketing Department in its focus to relate United Way's message throughout the community. Looking for people with some public relations, communications and marketing experience. Will meet once a month plus time for planning or pursuing leads.
Golf Invitational Steering Committee
Annual United Way of Morris County Golf Invitational to promote philanthropy in the community, raise funds for United Way of Morris County, and increase awareness of United Way of Morris County's programs and role as a community builder. Major responsibilities/tasks are to market event and United Way's message, sell an agreed-upon number of golf slots, secure event sponsors, and recruit additional committee members. Looking for people with good sales experience and connections. Will meet once a month plus time needed to pursue leads.
Commercial Real Estate Network (CRE)
Annual United Way of Morris County luncheon to promote philanthropy in the commercial real estate industry, raise funds for numerous Morris county non-profits undergoing capital improvements, and increase awareness of United Way of Morris County as a community builder. Projects are selected by a committee of volunteers prior to the first meeting of the CRE Network. Must have contacts/interest in commercial real estate industry and must feel comfortable and be willing to make phone calls, and send out invitations to "sell" the event and obtain sponsors. Meets approximately three times before event plus time needed to pursue leads.
Agency Membership Committee
Supports the United Way effort to honor its responsibility to donors to fund programs of agencies that are sound financially and operationally in a manner that is consistent with United Way's goals. Looking for people that work well with committee members, have good consensus-building skills, good communication and problem solving skills, ability to analyze, synthesize and grasp the big picture and have a commitment to and appreciation of diversity. Time needed is approximately 6 to 8 hours per month, concentrated in August through October. One year commitment.
Women's Leadership Council (WLC)
A group of civic-minded Morris County women with the common goal of helping United Way of Morris County raise funds and awareness. WLC supports United Way in the following ways: Network Night Events and annual Rise and Shine fundraising breakfast. About 200 women attend each of WLC's special events. WLC hosts several service projects throughout the year, called Days of Caring, where women and their friends and families are invited to work together at a United Way member agency. WLC has a very active Steering Committee, which directs the activities of the organization and financial support.
