Project Front Line Morris
Community Partners Supporting Local Soldiers and Their Families
Military families are strong, but the stresses that arise when a family member is called upon to serve can be great. Sometimes these families might just need a little help while their soldier is engaged in active duty, or reintegrating into civilian life upon returning home.
Project Front Line Morris is here to help! United Way of Morris County is working closely with a network of health and human service partners and military entities in our area to increase community support for military families who are managing the home front while their loved ones are on the front lines serving their country. This project is called Project Front Line Morris.
On September 27, 2009 United Way of Morris County joined forces with Leadership Morris to host a special fundraiser to raise money to help local military families. The event was a HUGE success, drawing nearly 500 people from across the community to support military families. Click here to see our photos from this event.
On March 3, 2009 United Way of Morris County hosted its Public Officials Forum, an annual event which brings community leaders together to discuss a significant community issue. This year’s Forum topic, Communities Caring for Military Families, focused on raising community awareness for the ongoing need to support military families. The event was hosted at Picatinny Arsenal. If you are a military family that needs help – or if you are a concerned citizen that wants to get involved and help local military families – you have come to the right place!

As a family member of a soldier, you do your part every day by standing strong and maintaining the homefront. However, the absence of your soldier can make everyday challenges even more difficult. Sometimes you may struggle to manage the responsibilities of keeping a household running while coping with the emotional difficulties that accompany a deployment.
United Way of Morris County is working closely with a network of health and human service partners and military entities in our area to increase community support for military families who are managing the “homefront” while their loved ones are on the front lines serving their country. This project is called Project Front Line Morris.
Through this effort, United Way is working in collaboration with other vital human service agencies throughout Morris County to make sure the community is fully prepared to support our local military families before, during, and after deployment. United Way of Morris County’s community partners include: Picatinny Arsenal, NJ Army National Guard, Family Service of Morris County, NJ 2-1-1 Partnership, First Call For Help, Morris County Chamber of Commerce, and the Daily Record.
If you or your family needs help, please dial 2-1-1 to speak to a call specialist today. |
As part of Project Front Line Morris, United Way of Morris County and its partners have established the Front Line Fund so that we are prepared to meet the emerging needs of our local military families when they arise. This is one example of how we are fulfilling the Army's Community Covenant, our formal commitment of support to our local soldiers and their families.
United Way of Morris County is already hard at work, supporting two key resources in Morris County: trained specialists at 2-1-1 call centers in New Jersey and a designated case management professional to provide individual family support.
As we build this fund, resources will be available to meet a wide range of needs as they arise – this could be anything from counseling services to emergency child care.
As community members, the 98 percent of us not in uniform have an obligation to support the families of the two percent that do.
Designate a gift to the Front Line Fund today as your formal recognition and thanks to our local military families’ sacrifices as their loved ones serve on the front lines for our nation. |
