United Way of Morris County funds necessary health and human service programs operated at our local member agencies, which are listed here. To achieve member agency status, agencies complete a membership and review process. This supports United Way's effort to honor its responsibility to donors to fund programs of agencies that are financially and operationally sound. Funding programs that address our work is one way United Way helps to improve quality of life in Morris County.

Ada Budrick Child Care & Learning Center
Child care offering subsidized care for low income families. Serves pre-school aged children.

American Red Cross – Colonial Crossroads Chapter
Volunteer blood donor program; emergency and community services, including disaster relief ad services to military dependents; first aid. CPR, and water safety training; youth services; community health programs, including AIDS education; transportation.

American Red Cross – Northwest New Jersey Chapter

Volunteer blood donor program; emergency and community services, including disaster relief and services to military dependents; first aid, CPR, and water safety training; youth services; community health programs, transportation for senior and disabled veterans.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris County
One-to-one mentoring provided to children primarily from single parent homes through several programs, including the traditional program, school-based program, family program, and couples program.

Children on the Green
Infant and pre-school care offering subsidized care to low income families. United Way of Morris County funding is for "slots" for children from homeless shelters.

Collinsville Child Care Center
Child care for low and middle-income families. Also, home of the "Collinsville Teen/Tot Learning Project" which trains and employs minority male teens, ages 14 to 17, as teacher assistants in child care centers that serve the working poor.

Community Hope
Residential recovery programs for homeless veterans and individuals in recovery from mental illnesses; serving adults, young adults, and veterans.

DAWN Center for Independent Living, Inc.
Centers for Independent Living (CILs) are private not-for profit organizations that work with people of all ages with all disabilities to advance their independence. The goal of CILs is to assure the full integration of people with disabilities into the mainstream of society to the greatest possible extent based on each person’s abilities and wishes. DAWN services Morris, Sussex, and Warren County communities.

Deirdre’s House
The only site in Morris County where a child victim of abuse and/or neglect can be interviewed, digitally recorded by law enforcement, medically diagnosed and treated, and clinically counseled – all under one roof.

Dover Child Care Center, Inc.
Center offers subsidized child care (full and part time; flexible hours) to low-income families.

Dress for Success
Promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

El Primer Paso
Programs to teach English to Hispanic preschool children and to prepare them for kindergarten. Agency works with their families, as well as with the children, and supervises several day care sites.

Employment Horizons
Trains young adults and others with mental or physical handicaps to develop their skills in sheltered workshops and community-based employment.

Family Service of Morris County
With over 20 early intervention and prevention programs, FSMC gives children the best start in life by improving early childhood education initiatives, cultivating social and emotional well being, and supporting parents and families. FSMC also helps older adults to be independent in their homes through social day centers, caregiver respite, in-home case-management, financial literacy and programs for the blind and visually impaired. FSMC helps families cope with everyday challenges of stress, anxiety, parenting concerns, marital issues, and the unique concerns of military families through counseling and case management services. FSMC prevents substance abuse in families and communities through education programs.

2-1-1 First Call for Help Serving Northern NJ
Referral service offering free, personalized, confidential, assistance accessing community resources and information for Morris County residents as well as all of New Jersey.

Gateway Northwest NJ Maternal & Child Health Network
An organization of health care professionals and consumers concerned about the health and wellbeing of mothers, infants, children and adolescents.

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey
Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. By providing leadership training, girl scouts discover themselves, connect with others, and take action to create positive change in their own communities. GSNNJ is the largest Girl Scout council in New Jersey, serving 19% percent of girls ages 5-17 in 160 municipalities including all of Bergen, Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties and the northern half of Warren County.

Head Start Community Program
Free preschool program to children from low-income homes and support services to their families.

Homeless Solutions, Inc.
A private, non-profit organization with over 25 years of experience in meeting the needs of our community’s homeless and working poor.  Our mission is to offer shelter, supportive services, and affordable housing to homeless and low-income people.  Housing Solutions provides outreach services, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing to families and individuals from the Morris County area.  In 2008, we provided shelter for nearly 700 people, one-third of whom are children.

Hope House
Outpatient program for drug and alcohol abuse; individual, family, and marital counseling, including people with AIDS (case management, counseling, transportation, group support); parenting education programs; prevention programs in the community; Fix-it and Chore programs for senior citizens; Hope Connection emergency response system; home sharing program.

Housing Partnership for Morris County
Agency assists municipalities, organizations, and individuals in meeting their affordable housing needs; rental and homeowner education; apartment and senior housing guides; advocacy.

Jersey Battered Women's Service, Inc.
Helpline for victims of domestic violence and emergency shelter for abused women and their children. JBWS also offers non-residential counseling, legal advocacy, transitional living, teen dating violence prevention programs, community education, and counseling for abusers.

Jefferson Child Care & Education Center
Pre-school program; before and after kindergarten care; before and after school care; summer camp program.

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest
Provides counseling and support services for families and individuals, adoption services, child study team, and resettlement programs.

Lakeland Hills Family YMCA
Facilities and programs through which children and adults can grow in their mental, physical, social, and spiritual lives. Y-based pre-school program offers subsidized care for low-income families. After school care if offered in local schools; summer day camp also available.

Legal Services of Northwest Jersey – Morris Division
Provides legal assistance, without charge, in civil case for those unable to afford a private attorney.

Literacy Volunteer of America – Morris County
Tutoring for adults who need to improve their ability to read, write or speak English.

Madison Area YMCA
Facilities and programs for the community to live healthier, better informed and more productive lives. The F.M. Kirby Children's Center is a childhood development center that provides infant, pre-school, before and after school childhood education in a safe, nurturing environment. Financial Assistance is available to those who qualify.

Madison Community House
Full range of recreation, social, and educational programs for persons of all ages; nursery school; space provided to the general public for meeting and events.

Mental Health Association of Morris County
Programs include mental health education, advocacy and supportive services to individuals and families, including homeless outreach.

Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs
Activities and programs center around transportation, home weatherization, personal computer training, social services, job counseling, immigration, citizenship, and health education.

Morris Habitat for Humanity
Builds safe, decedent and affordable owner occupied homes in partnerships with low-income families in need and the community, and to make decent housing a matter of conscience and action.

Morris Tomorrow
Provides a forum for discussion and action on public issues in Morris county.

Morristown Neighborhood House Association
Provides recreational, educational, and social programs for all ages. Child center offers subsidized pre-school and before and after school care to low income families.

Morris Center YMCA
A state-of-the-art facility offering fitness programs for people of all ages. The Richard F. Blake Childcare Center provides scholarships for qualifying individuals for infant and pre-school care. After School care provides scholarships for before and after school care for children who attend Morris Plains school district. The Backyard Kids Summer Day camp allows for a safe, healthy and fun camp experience in our on-site grove and playground. Older campers go off-site for exciting day trips. Campers are encouraged to live the Y core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Mrs. Wilson’s/Alfre, Inc.
Housing and treatment programs for recovering women substance abusers.

Mount Olive Child Care & Learning Center, Inc.
Multi-program Center offering year-round programs for Infants & Toddlers, Preschoolers, School-Age Children and Youth, and Parent Education. Subsidized care offered for low-income families.  All programs are accredited by either the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or the National Afterschool Association (NAA). Over 30 years of service to the community.

NewBridge Services, Inc.
The agency's mission is to provide affordable and innovative behavioral health care services to clients and their families. These clients typically are in need of mental health, addiction, senior citizen, or youth counseling and support services, including residential housing.

Parsippany Child Day Care Center
Subsidized infant and pre-school programs for low income families.

P.G. Chambers School
Special education, rehabilitation, and support services for handicapped children and their families. Kids Count Child Care provides programs for both able and disabled children six weeks to five years of age.

The Rose House provides developmentally disabled adults with a variety of living options, skills training, and interpersonal supports to help them pursue their goals and dreams, and become valued members of their communities.

Roxbury Day Care Center, Inc.
Day care and education provided for infant, toddler, and pre-school children of parents who must work to be self-supporting, are in approved job training programs, or are incapacitated; before and after school care for older children.

Skilled bedside nursing, therapy, and health care for patients in their homes; eldercare; hospice; community health programs; wellness programs for industry. Home health care, Alzheimer's care, adult day care, respite, and house call groceries for seniors.

Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills
Home health care, hospice care and community health programs in Somerset and Morris Counties. The Adult Day Center of the VNA of Somerset Hills is located on its campus in Basking Ridge.

Volunteer Management Centers, Inc
Become engaged, take action and solve community problems by volunteering.

West Morris Area YMCA
Provides physical exercise, aerobics, and aquatic classes; gymnasium, pool, and fitness equipment; Y-based child-care center offering a subsidized pre-school program; summer camp.

The Women's Center at CCM
Career counseling, family law seminars, legal clinics, computer training, and job search support for women who are single parents, separated, divorced, or victims of domestic violence. The goal is to serve the varied needs of women in their quest for economic self-sufficiency.
