United Way of Morris County funds necessary health and human service programs operated at our local member agencies, which are listed here. To achieve member agency status, agencies complete a membership and review process. This supports United Way's effort to honor its responsibility to donors to fund programs of agencies that are financially and operationally sound. Funding programs that address our work is one way United Way helps to improve quality of life in Morris County.

Ada Budrick Child Care & Learning Center
Child care offering subsidized care for low income families. Serves pre-school aged children.

American Red Cross – Colonial Crossroads Chapter
Volunteer blood donor program; emergency and community services, including disaster relief ad services to military dependents; first aid. CPR, and water safety training; youth services; community health programs, including AIDS education; transportation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris County
One-to-one mentoring provided to children primarily from single parent homes through several programs, including the traditional program, school-based program, family program, and couples program.

Infant and pre-school care offering subsidized care to low income families. United Way of Morris County funding is for "slots" for children from homeless shelters.

Collinsville Child Care Center
Pre-school child care center offering subsidized care for low income families.

Community Hope
Provides a supportive living environment for adolescents and adults recovering from severe depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other debilitating mental illnesses.

DAWN Center for Independent Living, Inc.
Information and referral, peer support, advocacy, independent living skills instruction, and recreation for the disabled/handicapped population.

Deirdre’s House
On-site medical, psychological, and judicial services to child victims of physical or sexual abuse.

Dover Child Care Center, Inc.
Center offers pre-school and before and after-school subsidized child care (full and part time; flexible hours) to low income families.

Dress for Success
Provides interview-appropriate clothing to low-income women seeking employment.

El Primer Paso
Programs to teach English to Hispanic preschool children and to prepare them for kindergarten. Agency works with their families, as well as with the children, and supervises several day care sites.

Employment Horizons
Trains young adults and others with mental or physical handicaps to develop their skills in sheltered workshops and community-based employment.

Family Service of Morris County
Provides individual, family, and group counseling on marital, parent-child, and personal adjustment problems for all ages; also provides child care consultation, mentor for families, support groups for families of the unemployed, Friends of the Blind, and Time Out (subsidized social day care to those elderly unable to remain at home alone; respite care)

2-1-1 First Call for Help
Personalized community information and referral services for Morris, and Passaic and other counties.

Gateway Northwest NJ Maternal & Child Health Network
Provides education for clients and providers to improve child and maternal health; NJ Kidcare outreach and enrollment assistance; "Read Me A Story" program in pediatric clinics. United Way of Morris County funds the Emergency Medications Fund.

Head Start Community Program
Offers a free, comprehensive pre-school program to children from low income families. United Way of Morris County funds an extended day, child care program to parent who work, are incapacitated, or participate in job training activities.

Homeless Solutions
Care for the homeless, including emergency shelter and meals; counseling services; assistance with job placement; transitional and permanent housing.

Hope House
Outpatient program for drug and alcohol abuse; individual, family, and marital counseling, including people with AIDS (case management, counseling, transportation, group support); parenting education programs; prevention programs in the community; Fix-it and Chore programs for senior citizens; Hope Connection emergency response system; home sharing program.

Housing Partnership for Morris County
Agency assists municipalities, organizations, and individuals in meeting their affordable housing needs; rental and homeowner education; apartment and senior housing guides; advocacy.

Jersey Battered Women's Service, Inc.
Hotline for victims of domestic violence; emergency shelter for abused women and their children. Also, non-residential counseling; legal advocacy; transitional living; teen dating violence prevention programs; community education; Abuse Ceases Today (ACT) counseling for abusers.

Jefferson Child Care & Education Center
Pre-school program; before and after kindergarten care; before and after school care; summer camp program.

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest
Provides counseling and support services for families and individuals, adoption services, child study team, and resettlement programs.

Provides legal assistance, without charge, in civil case for those unable to afford a private attorney.

Literacy Volunteer of America – Morris County
Provides tutors to adults and families who need to improve reading, writing, or English conversation skills.

Madison Area YMCA
Facilities and programs through which children and adults can grow their mental, physical. social, and spiritual lives. F.M. Kirby Children's Center offers infant, preschool, before and after school programs. Low income families receive subsidized care. Summer day camp is available.

Madison Day Care Center
Pre-school child care center offering subsidized care for low income families.

Madison Community House
Full range of recreation, social, and educational programs for persons of all ages; nursery school; space provided to the general public for meeting and events.

Mental Health Association of Morris County
Programs include mental health education, advocacy and supportive services to individuals and families, including homeless outreach.

Morris Area Girl Scout Council
Provides programs for girls, volunteer development council, merchandise purchasing, and general and historical information. Project Safe provides after school activities, located in Dover schools, and is targeted to low income, Hispanic children.

Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs
Activities and programs center around transportation, home weatherization, personal computer training, social services, job counseling, immigration, citizenship, and health education.

Morris Habitat for Humanity
Builds safe, decedent and affordable owner occupied homes in partnerships with low-income families in need and the community, and to make decent housing a matter of conscience and action.

Morris Tomorrow
Provides a forum for discussion and action on public issues in Morris county.

Morristown Neighborhood House Association
Provides recreational, educational, and social programs for all ages. Child center offers subsidized pre-school and before and after school care to low income families.

Morris Center YMCA
Facilities and programs through which children and adults can grow their physical, mental, social, and spiritual lives. Y's Owls program provides subsidized infant and preschool care to low-income families; Y's Kids program offers subsidized before and after school care for older children. Summer day camp also available.

Mrs. Wilson’s/Alfre, Inc.
Housing and treatment programs for recovering women substance abusers.

Mount Olive Child Care & Learning Center, Inc.
Multi-program center offering infant/toddler, pre-school. and school-age child care programs; subsidized care for low income families; parent education program.

The agency's mission is to provide affordable and innovative behavioral health care services to clients and their families. These clients typically are in need of mental health, addiction, senior citizen, or youth counseling and support services, including residential housing.

Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills
Skilled bedside nursing, therapy, and health care for patients in their homes; eldercare; hospice; community health programs; wellness programs for industry. Somerset Hills Adult Day Center (located at 510 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ) is a day care center for older adults.
