The agency's mission is to provide affordable and innovative behavioral health care services to clients and their families. These clients typically are in need of mental health, addiction, senior citizen, or youth counseling and support services, including residential housing.
United-Way-funded programs:
70001 Jobs PLUS
Serves young adults from Morris County, between the ages of 16 and 21, who have dropped out of school for any number of reasons. 70001 Jobs Plus addresses the employment barriers of these youths through intensive job training, education and counseling, as well as consultation and collaboration with other youth service providers in the county. The program has proven to be exceptionally successful at helping these young adults acquire the employment training and life skills necessary to become confident members of society with promising futures.
SAIL Advance Practice Nursing Initiative
Serves the medically underserved, homebound frail elderly who tend to be not under the care of a physician and/or who generally avoid issues related to their health status. The APN accompanies the case manager during the initial assessment interview to conduct a separate health assessment: checking vital signs, performing routine screenings for common chronic conditions, reviewing prescribed medications and checking for reactions with over-the-counter medicines, assessing diet and nutrition, and screening for depression and mental health issues. With the results from the assessment the APN is able to educate the senior of the importance of accessing appropriate care; intervene with a senior’s primary care physician if any; and/or provide the senior with a referral for medical services.
Center for Child & Adolescent Mental Health
Counselors work with families to come up with a treatment approach that will give families the tools they need to help manage symptoms of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders and attention deficit disorders in children and adolescents. Through psychotherapy – sharing feelings through playing, drawing, building, pretending, and talking – children and families learn to understand and change the feelings and behaviors that are causing them problems. |
