Disaster Relief and Response
Provides emergency relief and assistance to disaster victims 24 hours, 7 daysa week, in the form of food, shelter, clothing, and medical supplies. In high impact disasters, volunteer teams provide mass care functions. Mental health counseling and support is offered.
Disaster Planning, Preparedness, and Education
Prepares individuals and communities to cope with disasters. Provides disaster education and preparedness to assist individuals and families. Comprehensive planning includes a disaster plan, shelter sites, operation procedures and agreements with government and other organizations active during disasters.
Armed Forces Emergency Services
Provides all members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families with timely and reliable communication and case services including information and referral, as well as access to emergency financial assistance. These services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, worldwide.
Transportation
A volunteer corps of drivers provides veterans of the Armed Forces with prompt andcost-effective transportation to and from medical appointments at the Veterans hospitals, clinics, local hospitals and doctors as needed. |
