Advisory Council
Inclusion Committee
"Diversity always exists in social systems. Inclusion, on the other hand, must be created. In order to leverage diversity an environment must be created where people feel supported, listened to, and able to do their personal best."
Diversity is one of the core values for the entire United Way movement. It is reflected in our vision and mission statements and part of our core values here at United Way of Morris County. It has long been discussed as a strategic business imperative for United Way organizations, with real implications for how we define ourselves and live that definition each day. In other words, diversity is both a principle and a practice for the entire movement. We aspire to involve every segment of the community in every aspect of our work and to demonstrate our commitment to and accountability for an inclusive environment in which differences are recognized, respected, valued, and celebrated.
As part of United Way of Morris County’s diversity and inclusion strategy, we bring together a group of community leaders from throughout the county, with hopes of representing segments of our population as may be appropriate for our county’s population. These leaders make up the Inclusion Committee for the United Way of Morris County Advisory Council (the "Committee"). The goal of the Committee is to advance diversity and inclusion throughout the United Way system. Members of the Committee will help to address business and system issues as well as human service needs within selected markets. |
